Catharsis through Music
Last night was the big Chapman show for us, (The Parachutes). Highlights include (in no particular order):
-finally finishing setup 8 1/2 hours after starting
-sporting my new mohawk-i-er mohawk
-getting totally buzzed on 1 Red Bull since I don't drink caffeine
-listening to Odelia and Eagle and Talon
-getting mesmerized by a disco ball
-having my cut of Metropolis match up to our set perfectly
-people screaming "Go Parachutes!" and other compliments during the set
-being the only band to get an encore
-having the Willowz hate me since I was stuck doing sound
-having a fan ask for our signatures
-finding out I had a mini fan-club of girls
-having a guy from a record company love us
-finally getting to sleep at 4am or so
Oh...and very odd coincidence that has nothing to do with the show. A few days ago I shaved my fauxhawk into a mohawk. Guess what I did exactly a year ago on that same date? Shaved my fauxhawk into a mohawk. I'm starting to repeat actions. This could get interesting.

And All the Children....They Sang...
Good news
I got my California tax return...it's for $4. Yes, exactly four dollars. California, you cheap bastard, give me more money! Oh well, now I can afford, um, part of a meal deal at Carl's Jr.
Good news V.2
Tomorrow at 8:30am I will be embarking upon a great journey. A journey to the land of scorching sun, deafening sound, and overpriced paraphernalia. Yes, you guessed it, I'm heading off to Coachella. I'm going with my band mates and an extra friend I don't know. We don't have tickets or a hotel room. We're going rogue style and hoping to get in cheap or free and sneak into a one person room with four people. What can I say? I'm cheap. And don't worry, my trusty polaroid will accompany me on this most perilous of journeys. And I promise no close ups of gross hot dogs this time.
Good news V.3
Next week is my last week at *bucks.
So I'll leave you with a philosophical thought by Berkeley:
If we see a table, what is in our mind? The actual table, or the thought/idea of the table? If the idea of the table is all we actually have access to, since we can't have the actual item in our heads, is there actually a physical world? Ideas are not physical, yet it seems ideas are well we have contact with. Go ahead...try and explain a table to me without using ideas.

Shameless Plug #27
Hey...go visit The Parachutes and tell them they are good.
I'm their temp bassist for their show on April 29th.
You'd better be there.
No really.
You'd better.
Or I might do something mean to you.
